The short version: we collect what we need to make the app work for you. We don't sell your data. We don't show you ads.

What we collect

Account information When you create an account, we collect your email address and password. Authentication is handled through Google Firebase. We use your email to log you in and to contact you about your account if needed.
Content you create Recipes you save or create, kitchen inventory, shopping lists, cooking history, ratings, and tips. This is the core of what eKitchen does, and we store it so your data is available across sessions.
Usage data We may collect anonymous usage analytics (such as which features are used and how often) to understand how the app is being used and to improve it. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.

What we don't collect

How we use your data

Your data is used to provide and improve the eKitchen experience. Specifically:

To let you save recipes, track your kitchen, and build shopping lists
To recommend recipes based on your kitchen inventory and cooking history
To improve the app based on aggregated, anonymous usage patterns

Third-party services

Google Firebase handles account authentication. Firebase receives your email and password for login purposes. See Firebase's privacy policy.

We may add analytics tools in the future to better understand how the app is used. If we do, we will update this policy and the data will remain anonymous and aggregated.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Period.

We may share data only if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure authentication through Firebase.

Account deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app. If you need help, contact us at support@ekitchen-app.com and we'll take care of it.

Children's privacy

eKitchen is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
